Who We Are
Rainbow Village, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization located at 400 Holcomb Bridge Road in Norcross, GA, 30071. We can be reached at 770-446-3800. We lease housing in Norcross and own property in Duluth for our residents. A generous developer offered us land in Buford on which to build homes for qualified graduate residents. We anticipate building our first home this upcoming year. We are always looking for additional land and additional builder partners.
What We Do
Every year Rainbow Village serves a core group of 20 families in our transitional housing program. Most residents complete our program within 12 months. However, our experience working with homeless families has taught us that the average family requires approximately five years of support to successfully transition into our communities. For this reason, we encourage our “graduate” families to continue to participate in the activities and resources we offer. Since our inception in 1991 we have worked with over 200 families and we are proud of our 90% success rate. Rainbow Village is accredited as a Best Practices Organization (QEST) by the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness. To serve our families, we provide the following services: case management, mandatory life skills classes, and a mandatory after-school program for school-aged children.
We Need Your Financial Contributions
One component of Rainbow Village’s vision is to serve more families by building a new campus and more housing. In just the past few weeks we have had over 31 applicants for our housing program. We know the need is great and that our program works. We also desire to offer our program to other organizations so that they may effectively impact homelessness and the cycles of poverty and domestic violence in their own communities. In order to make our vision a reality we need your financial support as well as your volunteer support. Like other non-profits, Rainbow Village struggles with the seasonality of giving, for this reason we are asking that you consider making regular quarterly or monthly contributions so that we may more easily provide a year-round consistent level of service to our families.
